Alabama saltwater fishing license

To fish from the beach, a pier or your own boat in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, you need an Alabama saltwater license. Visitors from most states pay $35.65 for seven days or $64.90 for a year; Florida and Louisiana residents pay their own rates. Under 16? You don't need one. On many charter boats, the captain's license covers you.

Your own Alabama saltwater license
Gulf State Park Pier
Two things: a state license, where the pier-only license ($14.15 for visitors, $7.65 for Alabama residents) is enough, plus the pier's own permit, $10 a day for adults. The $15 parking includes one angler's daily pier permit
On a charter
Usually covered by the boat: on Reel Surprise and Distraction Charters the captain's license covers every guest
