For outlet shopping, Tanger Outlets in Foley is about nine miles inland from Gulf Place or The Wharf. At the beach, The Wharf in Orange Beach has shops with free parking, Souvenir City on Gulf Shores Parkway opens daily until as late as 11 pm in summer, and Ron Jon Surf Shop is on Perdido Beach Blvd.

Car-free streets just outside the gates of Tropic Falls, open seven days a week with free entry. Shops include Native Treasures, The OWA Store, Toys Under Twenty and Alvin's Island, next to restaurants, theaters and an arcade.
Portside on Main is a newly opened row of shops with Kilwins, SALT, Gulf Babe Wine Boutique, Crave Cookies and the Alabama Sweet Tea Company.
