The name

Where OWA comes from

OWA, said "oh-wah", means "big water" in the Muscogee Creek language. In 2012, the City of Foley approached the Poarch Band of Creek Indians about building an entertainment destination in Baldwin County, and the tribe's development authority planned OWA next to the city's sports fields and events center.
